My three main criteria for choosing a great poker site are:
Therefore, I have spent a ridiculous amount of hours researching and playing real money poker on some of the best online poker sites (and worst).
So, here you go, my always updated, top list of the absolute best online poker sites, in my honest opinion.
top 6 Best Poker Sites in 2019: Quick Links1. 888 Poker: My favorite poker site
888 Poker is one of the big players in the online poker world.
They have been around for almost 20 years which gives them a stellar trust in my book.
888 Poker is especially suitable for new and amateur players.
Why?
Firstly, because they offer a no deposit bonus of up to $88 â this is unmatched in the industry. T&Cs apply.
Secondly, since they have a reputation for attracting just new and amateur players, it is easier not to lose your money, but rather win some while playing on 888 Poker. Which I proved in my case study of 20,556 micro cash games, read on.
888 Poker will offer you state of the art gameplay on practically any device you want to play on (PC, MAC, Android, iPhone, etc.).
The main drawback of 888 Poker is that they are quite strict on which players that are allowed to play. US players are for example not allowed, but for you guys, we have Americas Cardroom.
It is also very possible to make good money with 888 Poker. Here are my results from 20,556 micro cash games, which turned my initial deposit of $50 into $343,28.

2. Americas Cardroom: Best USA poker site
Americas Cardroom is one heck of a cool poker site.
I will tell you why:
This poker site accepts US players playing poker with real money. And, if you are not a USA player, there is nothing to worry about. Americas Cardroom is open for players all over the world with no restrictions.
It has one of the absolute best first deposit bonus systems Iâve ever seen.
You will receive $2 to $6 free real money cash EVERY DAY for 20 consecutive days.
This means that even if you lose all your money the first day, you will receive a steady stream of real money for the next 20 days.
If you enjoy playing on your mobile device, you have great options, on both Android and iPhone.
I would say that for new players who can take advantage of the incredibly generous bonus, this is site is your best option.

At PokerStars, you get the full package, playable on any device, tons of tournaments and an excellent first deposit bonus.
With their bonus system, you will be bombarded with tickets and free cash for your first six days after making a deposit.
PokerStars arrange some of the biggest poker tournament.

4. Bet365: Great bonus
bet365 is not the largest poker site, but the largest gambling company in the world.
Like many other major gambling companies, they were founded around the year 2000.
With bet365 you can feel safe, they wonât suddenly disappear along with your money.
As a new player, you will receive a decent welcome package upon your first deposit.
The welcome package includes some very lovely tournament tickets, which you can use immediately.
With these tickets, you have the chance to win some real money and entries to bigger tournaments.
The desktop client is well thought out and works smooth. However, the real fun starts with their mobile app which is nothing but outstanding.
I found myself playing a lot more on the Android app than on my PC.
Finding any major drawbacks with bet365 poker is hard.
I made a case of showing if it is possible to make money on Bet365 in 2018. Here are my results from 17,038 cash games which turned my $50 into $245,69.

5. 32Red: The hidden gem among all poker sites
32Red is a well-known player in the poker industry being around since 2003.
They are not the most significant poker room out there but does a great job with what they have.
Their first deposit bonus system is a little bit different then what we are used to.
Regardless of what amount you deposit you have the chance to earn up to $1000.
The bonus payout is solely based on the amount of RedBacks you earn.
This gives experienced and good players quite an opportunity to earn some extra cash.
Unfortunately, you can only play at 32Red using their PC desktop client.
This is quite annoying since I love to play on my phone. But, if you are okay with just PC play, then you will do fine.
Head over and read the full review or proceed to play there right now.

6. BetClic: Easy money
BetClic has roots all the way back to 2005, originally from France.
Their poker client uses the iPoker software and network, which ensures a decent amount of players to play against.
After you have registered and shoved in your first deposit, you will receive a bunch of tournament tickets valued at â¬10.
These tickets are in addition to the generous 200% up to â¬750 match bonus.
Altogether, Betclic offers a decent bonus package.
Unfortunately, they only offer gameplay from their PC client.
Overall, Betclic is nice and all, but there is nothing that truly stands out.
You should give them a try, utilize the bonus package, and if you are not winning, move on to another poker site.
In my case study of playing 16,697 micro cash games, I turned $50 into $274,21.

This month, via the social sharing platform Reddit, a poker dealer and former player started telling his story. However, this was no ordinary story. Over the past fortnight, Julius - not his real name - has started to reveal all about the illegal underground poker games in New York that he played or dealt in over the past fifteen years.
Feedback from the poker community has been overwhelmingly positive, with hundreds of poker players, dealers, and fans rushing to request more chapters. Itâs the latest poker binge and we caught up with the creator.
âI was really nervous when I made the first post,â says Julius, clearly shocked by the popularity of his story-telling. âI thought I was going to get a ton of crap for it. Iâd been browsing the sub-Reddit on poker for a while and looking through the content I couldnât find anything that was remotely similar.â
'Iâd been browsing the subreddit on poker for a while and looking through the content I couldnât find anything that was remotely similar.'
Julius is, as you might expect, deeply entrenched in the poker world, and currently resides in Vegas; the âgambling capital of the worldâ. Having left New York some time ago, he feels like he has sufficient distance from the subject matter to tell all about working in underground poker rooms. The kind of places the creators of Rounders visited to research the 1998 movie.
âI work for a few different poker rooms in Vegas and the most common thing people ask me is âWhere are you from?â Eighty percent of the time, the next question is âDid you play poker in New York?â When I tell that I played and dealt in underground clubs, they want me to tell them the crazy stories or if I saw cheating.â
Thatâs how the Reddit story started. One night, Julius left his last table and got home fuelled with an impulse to write about when he first visited a poker club when he was a 16-year-old. The next thing he knew, it was three hours later, and heâd created the first chapter.
âI have no formal training in writing and Iâm sure thatâs evident. But Iâve always enjoyed being articulate in my life. Iâve never done anything even remotely similar to this. I have no idea where this came from.â
The impulse has taken him to eight chapters to date, with plenty more to come. The one-time computer programmer, who was born in California but then moved to the East Coast and New York, loved the perks in New York, and money was the root of it.
âI had a pretty good job at a software company but always dealt poker on the side at nights or weekends, because the money was fantastic, and it was cash.â
Julius became drawn into the poker world more and more. It came to a point where he was making a lot more money in the poker games than he was in his regular job.
âI was happier doing it. I love the game and the industry. It brings me a lot of joy.â
That joy runs right through his story, and despite having to change a few names and clubs (âOut of respect and not to blow a spotâ), Julius may have protected peopleâs names but he lays the tale out there as honestly as it comes. This is the truth of what dealing to poker players or playing poker underground is really like. Julius believes dealing has made him a better player, but thatâs not something he thinks applies to everyone.
'I had a pretty good job at a software company but always dealt poker on the side at nights or weekends, because the money was fantastic, and it was cash.'
âMy favorite book is the myth of poker talent by Alex Fitzgerald. The best players in the world put in the most time and work the hardest.â
As a dealer, Julius thinks he and his fellow dealers have the opportunity to pick up poker skills to pay the bills. It all comes down to that hard work element.

âWe get to observe tens of thousands of hands on a daily basis eight hours a day. If you study the game and pay attention to the hands youâre dealing, you can learn quite a bit.â
Julius believes most dealers have an advantage - but only if they pay attention to players they deal to and embrace the study sign of the game. But he does... so why isnât he the best poker player in the game?
âI have horrible bankroll management!â he says with a rueful laugh. âI used to play $5/$10 but the game has become extremely nitty. Iâll play $1/$3 in Vegas because itâs so easy. I get the itch for poker two or three times a week, but I deal every other day; I work seven days a week.â
Despite his obvious love for the game, Julius, now nearing 30 years old, has no desire to turn professional in poker. But he does love mixed games and says that mixing it up helped his No-Limit Holdâem game immensely. Some stories will come up in future chapters that explore that... along with police raids, crazy poker hands, and getting out of New York just as Juliusâ luck was running out.
âBecause I titled it âInside Underground NY Pokerâ, I guess itâll end when I made the move to Las Vegas. In my life, that was a new chapter for me, but Iâm only up to 2007 right now, so Iâve got some time to go through before I leave.â
Now Vegas-based, Juliusâs adventures have continued above board with a dealerâs license. He loves being in the gambling capital of the world. He made the decision to move to Vegas because heâd had enough of dealing underground illegally. It was only a matter of time before something bad happened in New York. But hey, if youâre reading his adventures, youâll know that danger is on 5th Street waiting for him.
Read it yet? If not, you can find all the chapters right here. Here at PokerNews, weâre hooked.

With Julius' permission, an excerpt of one of his stories. This bit comes from the opening post; Part 1.
âWhen you rang the bell, theyâd ask you who you were, youâd tell them how and who invited you, and in a minute or two youâd be buzzed in through the first steel door. After entering, youâd come to a second steel door with another camera positioned in front, which only opened from the inside.

When you finally entered the room, it was gorgeous â clean, large, comfortable, and was equipped with everything you wanted in a club. A full-sized kitchen, multiple clean bathrooms (one even had a shower), a lounge area, a high limit room, waitresses, a bunch of large flat screen TVâs, and a smoking room among other things. The first thing youâd notice was that they had 6 high-quality poker tables paired with executive chairs, not including the one in the high-limit room. This club was spacious.
As you walked in, a valet would ask for your keys and he would go fetch your vehicle and park it in an organized fashion amongst the others. Youâd then make your way over to the podium and tell the floor which game you wanted to play â they usually had at least several games going â $1/$3, $2/$5, and $5/$10 NL and higher when it ran, but the much higher games were much more private.
Strapped with $1,000 in cash on me, I request a seat in the $1/$3 game and eventually make my way onto the table. The max buy-in was $500, which I opted for because most stacks at the table were deep. It didnât really matter anyway â this was my first time playing in an underground poker club and I was nervous as hell.â
